Jay Adair
Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman
Jay Adair serves as CEO, a role he also held from 2010 to 2024, and as Executive Chairman of Copart. He previously held positions including Executive Vice President from 1995 to 1996 and President from 1996 to 2010. Jay joined the company in 1989 at the age of 19 and worked with our founder and Chairman, Willis Johnson, to grow Copart into a multinational corporation and member of the S&P 500. Jay architected Copart’s commitment to be the first fully online auto auction, expanded Copart’s footprint to serve vehicles from all types of consignors and in countries around the world, and developed solutions to serve all aspects of auto remarketing within title processing, vehicle logistics, and more.
